Many years ago, I was walking through the bogs at Theodore Wirth Regional Park here in Minneapolis, frustrated and uncertain about my future.

I had left the financial advisory industry for the time being and was working at a nonprofit…and hating every minute of it.

My friend was with me that day as we walked the paths winding through the bogs. We were talking about “purpose,” that deep, soul-level sense of what you’re meant to do in this world. I was telling her about my frustration, about feeling stuck in work that didn’t fit me, about not knowing how to get back to what mattered. And as we talked, something crystallized for me:

I was meant to help women transform their relationship with wealth.

Somehow, I knew deep in my bones that I was uniquely equipped for that work. It was my real purpose on this planet, the work I had been called to do.

But I wasn’t even working as a financial advisor at that time. I had no idea how this vision could ever become reality.

That walk happened in 2008. WatersEdge Wealth Management didn’t open its doors until 2018, ten years later. And even then, it took time for my vision to fully form itself into what you see today.

Here’s what I’ve learned about seeds and vision: they don’t bloom overnight. Sometimes they germinate in the dark, during seasons when you’re not where you want to be, doing work that doesn’t fit you, wondering if your dream will ever come to life.

But the seed matters. Planting it matters.

As we move into 2026, I want to ask you:

What seeds are you planting?

What clarity is emerging for you, even if you can’t see the full picture yet?

You don’t need to have it all figured out. You don’t need to know exactly how it will unfold. You just need to honor what you know in your bones to be true about your purpose, your future and the God-given gifts you want to share with the world.

Plant that seed. Tend to it. Trust it.

The life you’re meant to live is already taking root.

Happy New Year. 🌱
